“One is not idle because one is absorbed. There is both visible and invisible labor. To contemplate is to toil, to think is to do. The crossed arms work, the clasped hands act. The eyes upturned to Heaven are an act of creation.” – Victor Hugo (1802-1885, French poet, dramatist, novelist)

I’ve been doing a lot of that lately and trying to be ok with that. Honestly, trying to be ok.

Little things like planning out a project, spending hours browsing images and connecting the pieces of wood in your head before sketching them out. Heck, spending an hour patiently untangling yarn with the cat.

What invisible labor have you done lately?
